The day was finally a Thursday and Delia couldn’t help but wait for the arrival of Friday as it to be their second anniversary. She still had memories how she had happened to bump into Sam four years back. He was the manager of certain BPO and she was in need of a job. Having just graduated she was trying to earn a pay for her education loan.

That is when Mr Perfect; ‘Sam walked in!  He showed her how to handle the working of finances and also manage about the repayment to her loan, apart from helping her with the job process at his call center. Well, he was the boss, and in the process became much more towards her. A humble mentor and her only guide. After a while he was suddenly transferred to another city that marked an end of communication between them..

It was almost a year before they got a chance to meet again. There was to be an office party for which Delia had received an invitation. She was sordidly happy as it was a real achievement for her ….besides the happiness was more as she was hoping to bump into Sam again. She had heard this rumor from her seniors that he may be also there.

And, yes she did! As she started walking into the ballroom where they were holding that party, she became all of confused on seeing such many people present there.

“Too many people and I don’t know anybody.” she thought it out a little loudly than she intended to. Sam was just behind her, while she didn’t even happen to acknowledge his presence. As if assuring he just whispered from behind her: “I feel the same way too. Let’s walk in together, shall we! That way you won’t even feel so lost here.”

That was the very beginning. Their wedding got scheduled, the next year, which was the most romantic day in Delia’s life.

Last year too had been a lot of fun. On the day before their first anniversary, Sam whisked her away to an exotic resort nearby. On the morning of the D day, he carried his beautiful wife swiftly to the bathroom, washed her shiny curled hair, her face with a set of gorgeous eyes and her body with his soft trembling hands as if in a way to protect her or else she would break if not handled in a timid manner. Everything of these gestures was accompanied by the sweetest of compliments as he moved his hands sensuously over her shivering body.

‘God! That was heavenly!’ She could still feel his gentle, the very sensual touch every time she happened to close her eyes in his remembrance. From out of the shower towards the bed, he constantly continued his string of compliments meant for only her. He even dried her with a fluffy towel, applied the lotion on her entirely and then……after hat it took her almost more than an hour or so to get dressed.

Delia wanted it to be special even this time too! Sam was out of the city on an assignment but he did promised her to be back by that same evening. Unhappy though; Delia knew that she didn’t had any option given all the work pressure that Sam was always found to be in. So, instead of just sulking the whole day, she made up her mind by looking forward to a very special evening. And prayed hard.

God had other plans for them cuss later that day Sam called her up at exactly 9pm to inform that he would have to stay back for the entire weekend. He was in so much of a hurry giving her no a single chance to even protest towards this. Delia had probably never felt dejected in her whole life – there wasn’t anything to look forward too now. That night she wept herself to sleep hugging Sam’s pillow.

The next day morning, she found an SMS from Sam telling her – ‘2day will b a day u will nvr forget’. “Yes, it will …cuss you are not there!” mused Delia to herself as if smiling with a tickle.  She opened the main door to find a gift waiting for her. It was a tray with a bunch of beautiful decorated red roses, a nicely wrapped gift bag and a red velvet box. Guess what was in it? A lovely black pearl necklace, she had coveted for it for many a months. A note in the box read, “I remembered the color of your eyes when I saw this!”

Delia thought of giving Sam a call, but refrained herself, thinking; “He must be busy.” The driver announced that he had been asked to take her to her favorite café. She knew that it was Sam’s plan because they had a cake for her. There was a box of chocolates too and as she opened it, she found a note – ‘Miss me when you have these.’ “If only you were here”, said Delia. She was then dropped off at the salon to get her hair and nails done. It was almost 3:30 pm when Delia was almost done.

Back home, she didn’t knew how she was going to get through with the entire lonely evening. She just had a sandwich, didn’t think she could have anything else. Suddenly the door bell rang and thinking it was Sam, she hurriedly ran to the door expecting only him. However, it was only the courier guy with an envelope in her name. She didn’t even want to take a look at it. But something made her change her mind – may be the unusual shape of the package.

Lo! It was an airline ticket to Mauritius where Sam was having his conference!!! There was even a note inside that instructed her to grab her bag and rush to the airport.

Go! she had never packed so much fast before. She picked up one of her sexy dresses and changed in no time. She decided to drive the car herself, how could she not, such was her desperation to reach the airport on time.

Sam was there at Mauritius airport. Everyone else was forgotten as he swept Delia up in his arms. The ride to the hotel seemed to take forever as they had to keep their hands off each other to avoid causing any embarrassment to the driver. They were finally in the room together. At one point, they just stood staring into each other’s eyes. The messages they conveyed with their eyes, took foreplay to a whole new level of romance. The rest of the time in that room was spent in the room …near the fireplace…on the bed …

It was late into the evening when they finally felt the grasp of being hungry – and it was time for the dinner. Delia and Sam took a romantic dinner beside on the beach with a flurry of musicians playing on their favorites of tune. And when things started becoming silent with only silence of rushing waves falling on each other the serenity was rendered even more romantic. It now became more familiar and more comfortable than before they arrived. It all reminded them of the awesome moments they two spent together at their first anniversary.

Hand in hand they took a long walk down the beach, enjoying the glistening moon. It was all so unexpected that Delia couldn’t help but could only stare into Sam’s face and his calm expression almost took her breath away. She knew that he was the only person she loved with everything she had and he was one who loved her over all else.

The weekend was well spent talking, laughing and mostly making love, of course! It was so perfect a getaway, ‘away from work and all the hassles. it was the best weekend Delia have had in her whole life. And yes, as Sam had said before, “you would never ever forget it!”
