Stranger by the sea – short contest story
She was standing by the side of the road parallel to the sea. The bottom of a very soft and yellow summer dress fluttered around her knees. In contrast, her dark tresses, with generous help from the wind, tried to obscure her face, protecting her beauty from passersby. You could inhale a sweet, inviting smell if you walked past her. Youth is beauty by itself and a youthful beauty is definitely one of nature’s gifts.
And a story that has a beautiful young woman, standing alone by the side of the road has to have a strong handsome man come in from somewhere, doesn’t it? So there he came – a dark leather jacket on a broad back, longish hair being boyishly tossed by the breeze and a low slung black motorcycle going phut-phut-phut between his knees. One glance at each other and a third person could have heard the crackle of electricity between them from a mile away!
“Want a ride?” he asked.
She didn’t even say anything. There is something about giving in to your instincts when they are screaming at the top of their voice. I am sure, a smaller voice inside her told her this was dangerous. But the butterflies in her stomach were enough to place herself on the pillion, place a hand on his shoulder and try to press against his hard back when he zoomed off.
They didn’t say much. Nothing in fact. She had no clue where they were going. But the woman in her loved the mystery and the fact that the man was so in charge. He smelled of cigarettes and the sea-wind. His hair was soft, almost like a woman’s. But he had a very manly stubble. His jacket was worn; it had definitely seen much travel. She wondered how many other women had sat on the bike and placed their hands on the shoulder. But his ear was so inviting and she her lips were already so close to it, her breasts completely crushed on his back…
The tip of her nose brushed against his ear. She felt him twitch, but he continued riding. Then, it was the tip of her tongue… But soon they stopped at a place. It was a small house on a smaller cliff, shielded by a thin film of palm trees from the drop to the sea. An army of clouds was marching towards them from far out into the sea.
He held his hand to her to help her get down. Then, without waiting for her permission, he scooped her off the ground, took her inside, put her on the bed. He was handsome. A strong jaw with thin lips gave way to sharp but kind eyes, a long nose and a furrowed brow. She felt shy. That seemed to make his eyes sparkle with more interest. When he put himself on her, she thought it was some of the best lovemaking she had ever had. When she snuggled up to him in his arms after they were both spent, she finally said something to him. She said, “Happy anniversary, darling.”
