About us

Welcome to the world of Short Stories.

All of us have some qualities that remain unknown to us until encouraged by someone. Writing is indeed one such talent which all of us have but only few realise it and take it as a viable career option. For the rest, there is ‘Short Story Book’ a blog in a form of a website, an initiative by CMM Languages and Web Services.

Short Story Book gives every reader something special to read about. Stories on the site are posted by very creative in-house writers; also there is a formidable contribution by amateur writers from all walks of life. List of story tellers is much diversified ranging from a school teacher to an IT professional, everyone has got their own unique tale to narrate. Nationally or internationally the site has earned appreciation from almost everywhere. It has encouraged many to structure their imagination and thoughts in the form of stories and present it to myriad readers. Over the years number of people posting stories has grown impressively.

This initiative has revolutionized story writing as never imagined before. In this e-age when cyber space has become so integral to all of us, the Short Story Book has added a new dimension to the storytelling. With internet getting popular amongst kids, the site has lots of short stories for children also. This not only adds to their learning but also improves their internet usage.

After a huge overwhelming response with ever increasing readership; the website has decided to conduct a short story writing contest on the blog, periodically, to give all aspiring writers an opportunity to showcase their talent. The site’s objective, through these contests, is to bring many more individuals closer to the art of story writing.

“You never know when you would turn into a full fledge writer, using Short Story Book as a medium to find your inner self”

I entered a story (under my real name) “A Dog’s Tale” some time ago, I see it is on your site.

Yesterday, 08. 15. 2010, my daughter, pseudonym Anne Dudley, entered an edited exerpt from her unpublished book, “Something wicked”. We have the same e-mail address as we are also co-writers as well as writing individually, is that allowed?

    William Stephen Taylor.

    Hi,
I would like to publish few of my stories on your blog?
What is the process to sing up for this site?
    awaiting your candid reply :)

@ William – Yes, we have received your short story “A Dogs Tale”. Sorry, the last date for accepting stories for the contest was 10th Aug 2010, hence we are unable to accept “Something Wicked”. If you wish we can still add “Something Wicked” as a guest contribution.

@Mudassir – Surely you can submit short stories on this blog. Please send us an email on gift at Shortstorybook dot net

    Dear short stories.
Yes, my daughter would like to enter her story as a guest contribution as we are not after the money (if I win with “A dog’s tale” then you can donate it to some worthwhile charity – like ‘underpriviledged children’).

I would also like to enter another short story, for entertainment reasons naturally, so what do we do with our “guest contributions”?

We can e-mail them individually or together.

Just tell us what the heading should be and where we can find other “guest contributions”.

Thank you for your time and the best of luck with your site.

    Yours sincerely,

    W. S. and R. A. Taylor.
